Join us for this lively and engaging look at our Rare Book Collection as we set off to explore the Pacific. Find out more about some real-life adventurers, including a pirate with links to Adam Smith, Robinson Crusoe and the Darien Scheme!
Polar Adventure! Explorations in Geology

Come along and learn from our adventurous Geologists and discover some of the collections they have brought home from their intrepid expeditions! Examples of material from the Geology Collection of the University of Edinburgh will be on display.
Hidden Gems – Mathematical jewellery workshop

Express your creativity at this fascinating workshop where you can make some stunning jewellery. Discover how maths can be used to make things beautiful, and then put this theory into practice by creating your very own maths inspired fashion accessory.

Adventures with Dark Edinburgh

Come and join us for a talk on how to create stunning images in Edinburgh (and much more!) given by the man behind Dark Edinburgh photography. The talk will be followed by the chance for a small group to attend a short practical workshop and adventurous tour (weather dependent).
We’ll round off the evening in an Edinburgh pub.
